Well around 11pm Alice started to cry. I didn't go in and waited to see if she would stop. She did. I went in around 11:15pm to be a good mommy and cover the kids up with blankets before finally getting into bed myself. Well, Hobbes was still awake. I tell him to lie down and go over to cover up Alice. Hobbes has thrown stuffed animals in on her and I sure that is why she was woken up and crying 15 minutes earlier. Luckily she is just so exhausted from so many late nights and early morning that she was able to just fall back to sleep. But I am done risking it.
I make a bed for Hobbes on the floor in my room. I put him in it and say good-night and crawl exhausted into bed. I no longer hear him talking or moving around midnight and am able to doze off myself.
7:30am....Hobbes is awake and ready for the day. Well, not really ready....but he awake.
Colin is coming up to help me move the crib back into our bedroom today. That will work for now. I am seriously thinking about making the dining room into our bedroom. I think it will work.
We will try putting the kids in the same room again one day, when they are a little older. Maybe when Alice is closer to a year and a half. Hobbes is just too excited to have her in there with him. I can't have another repeat of last night. I am giving up for now, but not forever.

Aw that's no fun. You could make the dining room a sweet master bedroom. What if you made a little room on the side of your stairs? You could hang some curtains up to close it off? It might be too small for the crib to fit? Just a thought.
Nice ideas, Deb! Yeah, that's frustrating, Laina. I tried 1 night to put Claire in the twins' room...didn't even last 20min. They were all in there talking, laughing, and Claire getting frustrated bec she kept trying to tell them to be quiet but they of course didn't understand. It was funny, but stressful! We've ended up putting Claire in our room. She has a little toddler bed from Ikea so it's not as big as a twin, and she goes to bed aprx. 1 hr before we do. It's been working out great! Good luck with whatever you decide on,there's nothing more valuable than sleep when you have little kids!
I just had to laugh that after the cute post about the kids sharing a room, the next one is called, "maybe this isn't working!" Cause isn't that so true about parenthood? What works for one doesn't for another, or what works one day doesn't work the next. Good thing your are flexible instead of bashing your head against the wall! It's so cute to see the siblings playing together in this post Laina.
